I was born in the antipodes where I shared my backyard with the deadliest animals in the world. I went to the beach, earned a degree in architecture & industrial design, then started a rock’n’roll band. The band needed posters, so I designed and printed them, then graduated to CD covers, ads and editorial design for Australian music and publishing clients.
In 1996 I moved to New York and worked as an alien of extraordinary ability at VB Concepts – a boutique design agency – where I created branding and merchandise for entertainment and fashion clients including Marvel, Warner Brothers, Federated Department Stores and Playboy.
My advertising career began in 2000 at Bates Worldwide with integrated campaigns for Beefeater and Canadian Club. When the account went to Publicis in 2003, I went with it, and I continued to work on liquor brands including Courvoisier, Sauza and Tia Maria. At Publicis I created a pitch-winning campaign for the travel goods brand Tumi, then worked on a diverse range of clients including Buitoni, Hot Pockets, Garnier, Whirlpool, LensCrafters and Citi. My campaign for MiraLAX won the account for the agency in 2011 and my campaign for Hilton Hotels in 2013 consolidated the business at Publicis Kaplan Thaler. In 2014 I created the launch spot for Cadillac. The next year I created an award winning viral video for Similac. In 2019 I started freelancing at agencies including FCB Health, McCann, Havas and Wunderman Thompson. In 2022 Humancare offered me the chance to launch SOTYKTU – a new plaque psoriasis treatment – and since then I’ve been exploring the creative potential of little red swimsuits and butterfly filters, amongst other things.
On the weekends I play ukulele with my wife and son in a band we call the Family From Hell. I also love to explore all the weird and wonderful things that New York has to offer.
